The Globetrotters on the Go are back after waaaaaayyyyyy too long of an absence. After more than a year of COVID quarantine and limited people contact for safety reasons (you all know how it's been), we couldn’t wait to head out on another road trip, this time with my family for a much-needed mini-reunion and birthday celebration for Anita's mom on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
We rented a super-cool beach house on Air B&B, that had more than enough space for all seven of us, plus everything we needed to get back into the groove of travel. You know we love traditional bed and breakfasts, and we will certainly return to that level of travel, but we have found a nice groove with house rentals, which are especially convenient for small groups like the one on this trip.
You know The Globetrotters know how to make the most of a well-equipped kitchen, so we enjoyed preparing delicious breakfasts and dinners for the family. Dinner on day one was Michael's famous meat sauce and spaghetti with a garden salad for dinner. Day two was pancakes and bacon for breakfast, then a delicious baked salmon and mashed potatoes for dinner. The kiddos baked their great-grandma a birthday cake to celebrate. On check-out day, we whipped up some epic salmon omelets and bacon before we hit the road.
